Spotlight on Excellence: Announcing Our 2023 Promotions

 

We are thrilled to announce this year's staff promotions, celebrating the outstanding achievements of our team members at Mulvey & Banani, and in collaboration with our subsidiaries - Mulvey & Banani Audio Visual and Mulvey & Banani Lighting. The dedication, innovation, and leadership of these individuals not only advance our projects but also define the trajectory of our business. Congratulations to each one of you on your well-deserved recognition!

 

 

Jeffrey Tran, P.Eng., Vice President & Partner


Jeff is promoted to Vice President & Partner at Mulvey & Banani. With a Bachelor of Applied Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Waterloo, Jeff first joined Mulvey & Banani in 2011. Known for his steadfast dedication and positive demeanor, he has consistently showcased his commitment and expertise throughout his tenure. With extensive experience in the industry, primarily in the corporate/commercial/residential sectors, his inclusive and balanced leadership style has been pivotal in leading projects to success. Among his notable contributions are high-profile mixed-use developments such as the acclaimed CIBC Square, the new Union Station Bus Terminal at 81 Bay Street, 140 Yorkville Avenue Condos, UPRC projects throughout Canada, and the new Toronto Regional Conservation Authority building targeting Net Zero Carbon. Outside the professional realm, Jeffrey's enthusiasm for innovation shines through in his passion for smart home technology. Alan McIntosh, B.A., IALD, MIES, Vice President & Partner


Alan is promoted to Vice President & Partner at Mulvey & Banani. With the firm for an impressive 13 years, Alan has consistently showcased his dedication and expertise in design. Coming from a rich background in live theatre and performing arts where he excelled in a myriad of technical roles, Alan transitioned his skills to join Mulvey & Banani Lighting in 2010. His meticulous attention to detail, particularly evident during the CA phase, combined with his ability to forge and nurture on-site relationships, has resulted in the successful delivery of iconic projects such as Prince Edward Viaduct, Bloor Street Benches, Little Canada, Ripley's Aquarium, as well as the Niagara Falls Illumination project. Beyond his professional acumen, when not in the office Alan is a busy father and husband, devoted hockey and baseball dad who also loves cheering for his Jays, Leafs and Packers. Charles Park, CPA, CA, Senior Associate, Controller


Charles is promoted to Senior Associate in the accounting department. Charles Park holds a CPA, CA designation and began his career with PricewaterhouseCoopers in Toronto, Ontario. He brings over 25 years of experience in accounting, finance and administration from a variety of industries and sectors. Outside of work, Charles is very involved in his church community, and can always be found cheering on his favorite baseball team, the Toronto Blue Jays. As controller, Charles leads the financial reporting and operations of the entire corporate group and is supported by a committed group of individuals with diverse experiences. Travis Gregory, Senior Associate


Travis is promoted to Senior Associate. Bringing over 20 years of extensive experience in electrical and related systems, Travis stands as a beacon of expertise within Mulvey & Banani. Merging management roles from both installation and field review perspectives, his depth of knowledge is evident. Notably, Travis's proficiency extends to mission-critical facilities and high-profile corporate fit-ups in Toronto’s financial district. Since joining Mulvey & Banani in early 2016, Travis has been a pivotal part of the dedicated contract administration team, offering invaluable field review insights for a range of projects from private commercial developments to large public facilities, including the remarkable The Well project in Toronto. Outside of his professional sphere, Travis embraces an active lifestyle, whether it's hitting the gym, running, wakeboarding, or playing squash. Olu Joseph, P.Eng., Senior Associate


Olu is promoted to Senior Associate. Graduating from Queen’s University with a degree in Electrical Engineering, Olu Joseph swiftly became an indispensable asset at Mulvey & Banani. Over his notable 11 years of experience with the firm, Olu has managed pivotal projects like Manulife's Head Office and distinguished RBC facilities in his hometown of Halifax. As a vital member of the tenant fit-up team, he's earned the moniker “the lab guy” following his specialized work with the University of Toronto at the MaRs Phase II Discovery district. Marina Bae, B.Eng., Associate


Marina is promoted to Associate. Marina started her journey with Mulvey & Banani as an intern in 2017 and has since showcased strong communication skills and dedication. Her hands-on approach both on site and in meetings has proven essential, especially with major undertakings like the CIBC Square project where she played a key role. Darian Brandolino, P.Eng., LEED, Associate


Darian is promoted to Associate. Joining Mulvey & Banani as an intern in 2017, Darian has showcased a trajectory marked by exemplary leadership, precise communication, and astute problem-solving. His dedication to the craft has been evident in key projects including the Thunder Bay Correctional Complex, 320 Bay Street Revitalization, and the Canada Square Mixed-Use Redevelopment. As a valuable asset to the electrical engineering team, Darian's exposure spans various sectors including education, retail, and corporate/commercial, testifying to his versatility. A graduate from Ryerson University with a Bachelor of Engineering in 2019, Darian's passion extends beyond work; he's a classic car restoration enthusiast, and enjoys spending time outdoors, skiing, and playing beach volleyball. Sagar Dharamshi, P.Eng., Associate


Sagar is promoted to Associate. Starting with Mulvey & Banani in 2017, Sagar has made an indelible mark over the past 6 years. As an integral member of Mulvey & Banani’s Security Engineering team, he has a diverse spectrum of expertise ranging from civic, education, mixed-use and commercial projects to work within the healthcare, financial and transportation sectors. Notable projects that Sagar has contributed to include the New Toronto Courthouse, The Well development, Portland Commons, Etobicoke Civic Centre and various TD Bank projects across Canada. Sagar's dedication goes beyond the regular call of duty, solidifying success across various project types and teams. Niusha Eshghi, P.Eng., Associate


Niusha is promoted to Associate. Since joining Mulvey & Banani in 2015, Niusha has set herself apart through her consistent diligence, thoroughness, and keen ability to learn quickly. In her 8 years of experience with the firm, Niusha's outstanding track record of meeting every deadline speaks volumes about her dependability, earning her commendation from clients. Her remarkable contributions are evident in prominent projects such as the Gateway Casinos, Brightwater Port Credit mixed-use development, Pickering College Academy, and several community centres across Mississauga and Brampton. An alumna of K. N. Toosi University of Technology, Niusha holds a Master of Biomedical Engineering and a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering. As a key member of the Electrical Engineering team, she plays a vital role in various corporate and commercial projects in Toronto, as well as in several expansive entertainment venues. Nishat Fatima, CHRP, Associate, Human Resources


Nishat is promoted to Associate in the Human Resources department. Since joining Mulvey & Banani in 2022 with 8 years of prior experience in HR, Nishat has brought innovative ideas that have significantly transformed the firm’s human resources practices, particularly enhancing our talent strategies. Brett Francis, P.Eng., Associate


Brett is promoted to Associate. Brett is part of Mulvey & Banani's tenant interiors team and specializes in the banking/financial sector with a focus on mission critical power infrastructure. Brett has played a key role in projects like the TD Bank and Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan Interiors fit-out within the 160 Front Street development. Brett is known for his strong technical knowledge and calm demeanor, a combination that has proved invaluable in diffusing tense situations. Brett began his career in the electrical field as a registered electrical apprentice on large commercial projects and later earned an Advanced diploma from Conestoga College in Electrical Engineering Technology and a B.Eng from Lakehead University in Thunder Bay. Renaldo Jo, B.Eng., Associate


Renaldo is promoted to Associate. In his 4 years at Mulvey & Banani, Renaldo has distinguished himself with key contributions to projects like the Bayers Lake Community Outpatient Centre in Halifax and the Cowichan District Hospital Redevelopment in Vancouver Island. An integral leader in the ICT Engineering division, he excels in integrating ICT systems across healthcare, education, and commercial sectors. Outside work, Renaldo is an enthusiastic hiker and completed the 600km Camino de Santiago in just 24 days in 2013; he also volunteers as a math tutor for underprivileged adults. Michael Mikolainis, P.Eng., Associate


Michael is promoted to Associate. A Carleton University Engineering graduate, Michael started as a summer intern with Mulvey & Banani in 2017. Over the past 6 years, Michael's exemplary interpersonal skills, endless enthusiasm, and resilience in challenging projects have made him an invaluable asset. His involvement in key projects like the New Toronto Courthouse and Basin Media Film Studio showcases his expertise in the corporate/commercial sector. Away from work, Michael's interests are eclectic: from participating in a Ukrainian dance troupe and following Formula 1 and NFL football, to skiing and golfing.
