Well Connected

Mike Prsa, P. Eng., steps up as MBII’s seventh partner and Vice President. Mike directs MBII’s thought leadership for electrical and electronic systems convergence and the role it plays in overall building sustainability. Drawing on what he sees emerging in the field, Mike is focused on the next phase of building intelligence that will leverage system data and analytics to deliver optimized systems performance.

"Energy is viewed as the long term business risk that is fueling a desire for more active energy management."

MBII has been part of the evolution of building intelligence from inception, promoting electrical and electronic systems convergence onto a single IP-based network, or converged building network (CBN).  Replacing traditional separate and siloed systems, a CBN permits more dynamic control and monitoring of energy consumption through the ‘real-time’ capture and analysis of building performance data.

“We look forward and we see the big picture for owners/ developers” says Prsa. “The active energy management that performance data enables is the response to escalating energy costs and the leveraging of technology. It is the route to sustainable and competitive buildings and portfolios.”

A seasoned project manager across all sectors, Mike has been active with large complex projects such as the St. Thomas Consolidated Courthouse, New Oakville Hospital and Toronto business core projects such as 81 Bay Street development, Bay Adelaide Centre East and the Southcore Financial Centre.
Also overseeing MBII’s dedicated Security Division, Mike has lead security modernization projects including landmark facilities such as the CN Tower, Toronto Eaton Centre and Ripley's Aquarium. High security international projects include Mumbai International Airport- New Terminal, Nairobi International Airport, Adam Airport, Sultanate of Oman and Pearson Airport, Toronto.

With MBII since 2007, Mike obtained a B.Sc. in Electromechanical Engineering at Wentworth Institute of Technology, Boston, MA.
