Each year, AVIXA recognizes outstanding AV professionals for their contributions to the industry.

The AVIXA Awards recognize outstanding AV professionals for their contributions to the industry. Members of the industry nominate individuals for the Adele De Berri Pioneers of AV, CTS Holder of the Year, Educator of the Year, Fred Dixon Service in Education, Mackey Barron Distinguished Achievement, Women in AV, and Young AV Professionals awards. New for 2020 are the Emerging Talent and Event Design of the Year awards. The Harald Thiel Volunteer of the Year Award is bestowed by AVIXA staff.

Winner of the 2020 “Young AV Professionals” award, Gregory is Vice President of Mulvey & Banani Audio Visual Inc. (MBAV), launched in 2017 as a subsidiary company of Mulvey & Banani International.

Since the early beginnings of the company as a dedicated division within the parent company, Gregory has been “deep in the trenches” designing office and building AV systems and technologies, enabling companies and organizations to conduct both live and virtual meetings and collaborations. Making an impact in the community is something Gregory has been doing all his life, ie: at the tender age of 12 he won the Canadian Cancer Society’s President’s Award for a fundraising effort he undertook; for five years Gregory volunteered his services to the carbon neutral concert for Earth Hour in Barrie, to name a few.

Launching MBII’s dedicated AV Design Division within a traditional Electrical Engineering firm was a GTA industry disruptor, a task that Gregory took on with ease.

Within months his group was bidding against well established, dedicated AV consulting firms. Gregory has been instrumental in the building industry to bring awareness of AV Design to the forefront, to have it accepted as a valid systems discipline alongside other traditional building engineering disciplines. Transparency in the industry is another cause Gregory has championed over the years as a consultant- he believes in, and insists upon vendor neutrality in order to deliver best value to the Owner.

Congratulations Greg!
