Illuminating the Process: Lighting the Way Together

General Info

About the Project

Project Description

At Mulvey & Banani, we believe lighting is more than illumination - it's an art form, where materials like glass shape the way light comes to life, transforming a space in unexpected ways. Our team of lighting designers visited a glassblowing studio, immersing themselves in the artistry, craftsmanship, and intricate details behind the process. From heating and pressing to shaping and blowing, every step required hands-on precision and care. The team brought lighting back to materiality, delved into the art of glass blowing, and each walked away with their own handmade fixture. This project was far from ordinary, as we stepped beyond our usual routines, embracing experimentation to create something truly unique. Each bulb represents the delicate balance between light and glass, evolving into a one-of-a-kind creation. They aren’t just fixtures, they’re pieces of art. This project is a reflection of our commitment to pushing the boundaries of design, craftsmanship, and collaboration, creating lighting that is as much about the process as it is about the final product.
