BIO
Peter Lee, P.Eng., ATD is Vice President and a senior leader within the firm’s Electrical Engineering division. He is widely recognized for his strategic vision, technical expertise, and commitment to innovation. With a career built on a passion for solving complex challenges, Peter integrates leading-edge technology with practical and cost-effective solutions that enhance both user experience and system reliability. His unique foundation in electrical work, developed through early hands-on experience with his father, continues to shape his grounded and thoughtful approach to design.
Peter began his professional journey in the Mission Critical sector, where he developed deep expertise in risk management, rapid decision-making, and delivering precise solutions under pressure. These formative experiences built the foundation for his ability to lead complex, high-impact projects in demanding environments. His work has consistently demonstrated his capability to manage intricate systems while maintaining a focus on operational excellence.
As a leader, Peter is known for his dedication to mentorship and the development of high-performing teams. He encourages his colleagues to grow through continuous learning and by leveraging their individual strengths. He communicates with clarity and compassion, believing that the delivery of a message is just as important as its content. Guided by the Chinese proverb, “When entrusted by others, one must do their best to honour this trust,” Peter instills a strong sense of responsibility and pride in his team, consistently driving a culture of accountability and excellence.
Peter’s project portfolio reflects both depth and versatility. He has contributed to a wide range of sectors, including industrial heating and cooling systems, solar photovoltaic design, and legacy system modernization. His notable projects include the BMO Field grandstand expansion, renovations at the Justina M. Barnicke Gallery at the University of Toronto, and infrastructure upgrades at Queen’s Park. More recently, he has led complex projects at the Queen Richmond Centre West Phase 1 and 2, West Lincoln Memorial Hospital, and Cowichan District Hospital, where his leadership ensured the delivery of reliable and resilient electrical systems.
Among his most distinguished accomplishments is the Allied Data Center at the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation headquarters in downtown Toronto. Serving as the prime consultant, Peter led the integration of four 2.5MW diesel powered generators into the basement of a live broadcast facility. The project was completed without any interruption to live operations, underscoring his expertise in managing high-stakes, technically demanding work.
Outside of his professional responsibilities, Peter is an avid photographer with a passion for capturing landscapes and portraits. He is also deeply committed to community service through his involvement with the Scouts Troop and the Lions Club, and through previous leadership roles with the Canada-Hong Kong New Horizon Lions Club. Family plays a central role in his life, and he finds inspiration in seeing the world through the eyes of his children. He enjoys hiking, camping, and basketball, and once embarked on an adventurous road trip from Vancouver to Nova Scotia, traveling nearly the entire length of the TransCanada Highway.
Peter Lee brings a powerful combination of technical excellence, empathetic leadership, and strategic foresight to every project. His ability to lead with integrity and vision continues to leave a lasting impact on both the industry and the communities he supports.
